9/11 memorial to also recognize local first responders

CLAY COUNTY, GA - Clay County, GA will be holding a First Responder Ceremony and 10 year 9/11 Memorial this Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Woman's Clubhouse on Bluff Street in Fort Gaines, GA.  The program is scheduled for 11:00 am and includes speeches from Rep. Gerald Greene, and Jamey Crozier of Congressman Sanford Bishop's office.  There will be a Corps of Engineers DTOS (Deployable Tactical Operations System) unit on site as well.  This is one of the units that respond to disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes, but these units were also deployed to Ground Zero on 9/11/01.  Representatives from the DTOS unit will be speaking on why they were at Ground Zero and what they did to assist the NYC firefighters.  There will be a display of Ground Zero items from a Fort Gaines local, Wayne Gulledge, who was there as part of the DTOS team.  All local first responders will be recognized and presented a certificate and proclamation for their duty locally to show they are appreciated on a daily basis.
