PHENIX CITY, AL - High School teams from Alabama and Georgia are coming together on Saturday, March 17 for the 2012 Coach “O” Invitational Track Meet at Central High School.
The meet features men and women competitors from Barbour County, Central High School – Phenix City, Eufaula, Russell County, Shaw, Smiths Station and Spencer High schools. It begins at 9 am.
Central High School coach Charles Fortune serves as meet director and expects solid performances in several events, especially by Shaw High School of Columbus, Ga.
The meet is sponsored by Coach O, a track equipment, online registration and event management company from Knoxville, TN, led by former Jordan (Columbus, GA) High School’s Charles Oliver, an all-America runner at Troy University and former national 400 meter champion.
Fortune and Oliver were teammates on the Troy University track team.
