EUFAULA, AL - An Alabama office pool has collected more than a wad of water with the Georgia Lottery. Twelve members of the Eufaula Water Works office pool won $250,000 from matching the first five winning numbers in the July 10 Mega Millions drawing.

EUFAULA, AL (WTVM)- An Alabama office pool has collected more than a wad of water with the Georgia Lottery.

Twelve members of the Eufaula Water Works office pool won $250,000 from matching the first five winning numbers in the July 10 Mega Millions drawing.

Those members, who work for the city of Eufaula Water Works & Sewer Department in Eufaula, Ala., each claimed their share Thursday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Columbus.

Winn-Dixie recalls cheeseburger macaroni skillet dinner

Winn-Dixie recently announced an immediate Class II voluntary recall of Winn-Dixie Cheeseburger Macaroni Skillet Dinners sold in the 5.8 oz. package with a UPC code of 2114018080, and a sell-by date of May 14, 2013. 

According to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the reason for the recall is the potential for the product to contain small metal fragments.

Live artillery shell found near Eufaula

BARBOUR COUNTY, AL - Sheriff's Deputies found a live artillery shell near Eufaula on Friday, June 8.

Barbour County Sheriff's deputies went out to a call on the 400 block of Highway 131. The caller said they saw something that looked like an artillery shell while digging underground.

Barbour Co. parents upset about transferring teachers

BARBOUR COUNTY, AL (WTVM)- Barbour County parents are worried about the superintendent's suggestion to transfer some teachers.

Parents are concerned because Barbour County High School principal facing criminal charges would be moved to the elementary school.

Clarence Magee was arrested in October after Opelika police say he became disruptive at a night club.

Man charged with January murder of Barbour Co. man

BARBOUR COUNTY, AL (WTVM)- Officials with the Barbour County Sheriff's Office announced Willie Dickerson was arrested and charged with the January murder of Willie Pugh.

Pugh went missing on January 14. His body was found nearly two weeks later on a dirt road near Dickerson's home. The autopsy revealed Pugh died from stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

Alabama's unemployment rate drops for 9th straight month to 7.2 percent

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM)- Alabama's unemployment rate has declined for the ninth straight month to 7.2 percent for April.  

Governor Robert Bentley said Friday that Alabama's rate hasn't been this low since November 2008.
