EUFAULA, AL - On Wednesday, Dec. 12, students of Eufaula City Schools will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served on December 12 and buses will run the normal routes for this early dismissal.

Extended day and 21st century activities are cancelled.

Eufaula man sentenced 40 years for kidnapping with intent to commit murder

(WTVM)- Johnny C. Womack, age 57 of Eufaula, Alabama received a forty year sentence to serve fifteen years in prison and the balance on probation Monday in Quitman County Superior Court. 

Womack was the object of a two-day manhunt by the Quitman County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery, Alabama Police and U. S. Marshalls after he severely beat, choked, stabbed and kidnapped a Georgetown woman on Mandeville Road in Georgetown on August 9, 2011. 

AL schools to replace President’s Challenge fitness test

(WTVM)- The way your child is assessed in school is now changing.

Every Alabama student enrolled in physical education classes in second through twelfth grade will participate in the new Alabama physical fitness assessment.

We're told it's replacing the President's Challenge fitness test, which was adopted nearly 30 years ago.

The new assessment focuses on health-related fitness and measures aerobic cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility.

EUFAULA, AL (WTVM)- The search for a Eufaula woman is intensifying without any clues on her disappearance.

Lisa Wallace was last seen walking away from her home on October 27th after a domestic dispute with her husband.

A missing persons report for Lisa Wallace was filed with the Eufaula Police Department by the Wallace's mother after she was reported to have packed a small bag and left her home on foot on October 27th. She has not been seen since.
