Halloween Activities: Eufaula, AL

EUFAULA, AL (WTVM)- The city of Eufaula is offering several opportunities to celebrate Halloween this year:

October 30
6 p.m.

The Eufaula Carnegie Library will celebrate Halloween with a Monster Mash. The event is for youth ages 5-12, who must be accompanied by an adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult and are asked to attend wearing a costume.

EUFAULA, AL - Eufaula High Yearbooks are on sale during the months of October and November. The cost is $65; however, a $30 deposit will reserve a book with the balance due March 2013. 

After Thanksgiving, the cost of the book will be $70. No extra yearbooks will be ordered.

Army Corps revises plan to curtail locks

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have revised its plans to severely curtail the operation of locks on the Alabama and Chattahoochee rivers.

The corps announced that beginning Feb. 1, the locks will be staffed 10 hours per day for four days each week for use by private vessels. Commercial traffic will be allowed to use the locks 24 hours per day, seven days per week by scheduling an appointment. The corps also agreed to modify operating hours to accommodate special events, such as large fishing tournaments.

They're holding a fair for parents and guardians of children who attend Eufaula Primary School and Eufaula Elementary.

Come and talk to providers about which free tutoring program is best for your child.

The fair is at the Eufaula City Schools Central Office on Sept. 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
